ACES Education Foundation gala honors Wayne Escoffery Thursday in New Haven
March 24th, 2012
By Register Staff
NEW HAVEN — The ACES Education Foundation will hold its ninth annual gala All That Jazz, with special honoree and performer tenor saxophonist Wayne Escoffery, Thursday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the ECA Arts Hall, 55 Audubon St.
Escoffery, 35, who is an ECA alumnus and artist in residence, has recorded seven of his own CDs and been featured on numerous other recordings.
The in-demand sideman is considered one of the rising stars of jazz.
Tickets are $75 and available at www.aces.org.
Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served, and there will be silent and live auctions of such items as a photo safari in South Africa, a New York City package including a Lincoln Center tour, vacation homes in Vermont, theater and dining packages, and more.
The ACES Education Foundation’s mission is to support the educational programs, plans and goals of ACES, educate the public about the ACES mission and the services it offers and raise funds for ACES, which “celebrates music and its power to touch the lives of our children.”
