Todd A. Solli, a war veteran who grew up in New Haven and lives in North Haven, was named in October as the new assistant principal of regional Thomas Edison Middle School run by Area Cooperative Educational Services, ACES has announced.

ACES is proud to announce that decorated war veteran, Todd Solli as the new Assistant Principal of ACES Thomas Edison Middle School, a 6th – 8thgrade science and technology magnet school in Meriden. Prior to joining ACES, Todd was the S.T.E.M. Leader and Instructional Manager for the New Haven Board of Education. He served his country honorably with tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom / Operation Enduring Freedom. HeIn addition to his rich military career, Todd has been an educator and educational leader for over ten years.

ACES Educator Selected as Patriotic Teacher of the Year

Teacher Bill Jacobs is known for honoring veterans with an assembly he organizes for his special education students, and this year Jacobs himself is also being honored. Jacobs learned earlier this fall that he’d been selected by the Veterans Council of Greater Bridgeport as the Patriotic Teacher of the Year, and he’s being celebrated today at the City of Bridgeport’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

November 5, 2013: ACES held its 2013 Convocation. This year's theme of "Living Our Beliefs Every Day" was brought to life by keynote speaker, Dr. Guy Doud, performances by the ACES Educational Center for the Arts Cello Quartet with Vocalist, and the Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School Chorus. Special guests included Connecticut State Commissioner of Education Stefan Pryor, ACES Governing Board Chair, Alicia Clapp, and ACES Governing Board Member Norm Hicks. The day featured a health and wellness fair and afternoon workshops.
