ACES Chase Academy Overview
Student Enrollment:
700 Students in Grades 6-10
ACES Chase Academy is a premier inter-district magnet middle school where our mission is to prepare students for success through innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Our vision is to empower students to engineer, write, grow and change their futures. We honor diverse perspectives and experiences so our students can effectively solve problems in order to achieve equity and inclusion in an ever-changing, complex world.

The curriculum allows both students and teachers to be inquiry-based learners and instructors in a constructivist setting. Technology is an integral part of every aspect of the school. Administration and staff are professionally committed to providing the highest level of instruction to the students. ACES Chase Academy is dedicated to fostering an educational atmosphere that connects with a diverse community of learners where each member is recognized as an important piece of the whole.
Project Lead the Way
As a STEAM school we are excited to partner with Project Lead the Way (PLTW). PLTW is a Program that focuses on problem based learning. ACES Chase Academy received national recognition as a PLTW Distinguished School. We are one of the few nationwide middle schools that offers the PLTW program to ALL of our students. Currently, we have five PLTW Gateway units specifically created for middle school students. They take these courses as part of their creative arts rotations.
Chromebook for Every Student
One-to-One Computing, an initiative that began in the fall of 2004, has provided each student and teacher at the school with a personal device. The student chromebooks combine a variety of educational resources which benefit students and teachers by allowing access to the most current data available. Students visit different global sites, and instructors employ the internet as a tool of inquiry to expand on lessons and curriculum units. There is greater adaptability of instruction for students with special needs. A “Tech Team” of technicians, students, teachers, administrators, and an educational technologist help to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of technology in order to enhance learning in all areas and at all levels.
ACES facilitates the curriculum planning and ultimately the day-to-day operation at ACES Chase Academy. ACES has a long history of successfully running magnet and special education schools in the South Central region of Connecticut.
