Educational Technology
Educational Technology works with all ACES schools to provide support for classroom instructional technology integration. The Educational Technology department works with educators to improve student learning through technology.
Our Commitment to Parents: Clear Data Privacy Practices at ACES
Parents and guardians want assurances that personal information and data about their children are secured and protected by ACES. These questions are rising as we use the Internet, mobile apps, cloud computing, online learning, and new technologies to deliver exciting new education services. At ACES, we strive to be clear about what data we collect, how data support a child's education, and the safeguards in place to protect that data.* Scroll down to read more, or jump to topics using the links.
What data do we collect and why?
Operating Schools
We collect data such as addresses, phone numbers, gender, and age, as well as information to ensure student safety and accurate reporting to help run our operations efficiently.

Measuring Progress of our Students and Clients
We collect data such as attendance, grades, and participation in school activities to enable students to succeed.

Improving the Education Program
We collect results and content from local, state, and national assessments to provide teachers, administrators, parents, state, and federal agencies important information about student, program, and school performance.

Striving to Meet the Needs of Students
We collect surveys and other feedback to improve teaching and learning.
Current applications that use student information
ACES uses multiple applications to support learning. Not all applications use student information. The link below includes applications that do use student information and/or content. The applications were in use prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the new law.
Connecticut Student Data Privacy Pledge
ACES attests that we commit to the Connecticut Student Data Privacy Pledge. In doing so, ACES acknowledges that we have fully reviewed and comply with all applicable aspects of the state’s student data privacy law, as defined in Connecticut General Statutes §§ 10-234aa through 10-234dd. We address and comply with the law’s requirements through one or more standard contract vehicles (e.g., terms of service, data-processing agreement, etc.) that we enter into with each of our Connecticut public school customers.
