Mental Health Team
"Be a Bucket Filler"
One of the key roles of the School Social Worker is creating effective connections between school staff, families, and communities for the purpose of meeting the psychological, behavioral, academic, and social needs of all students. School Social Workers provide: individual and group counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, home visits, conflict resolution, consultation, and coordination of school and community services.

School Social Work Services - An Overview

Help students to:
- cope in times of crisis
- become resilient successful learners
- increase their personal and social skills
- access mental health services
Support parents to:
- effectively participate in their child’s education
- understand their child’s developmental and educational needs
- access school and community resources
Work with educators to:
- work effectively with parents
- participate in the special education process
- devise and implement interventions to address students needs
- meet educational outcomes for students of diverse backgrounds
- understand family, cultural, and community factors affecting students
Linking schools & communities to:
coordinate the delivery of educational and mental health services
