AUDIENCE: Anyone interested in increasing basic knowledge of Restorative Practices.

Building and maintaining relationships and a safe environment are critical to student success. Day-to-day conflicts arise in schools, at work, home and in our neighborhoods. Restorative Practices teaches us how to prevent and manage conflict in ways that support students - and adults - in making positive changes to their behavior. Participants who attend this two-day workshop will be provided with practical ways to use Restorative Practices effectively in schools, the workplace, home, and in a variety of settings and contexts.

Participants will:

  • Gain knowledge of Restorative Practices and its main principles
  • Understand how Restorative Practices works to prevent issues before they arise
  • Learn how to use circles as one component of Restorative Practices
  • Improve their ability to teach students and adults to take responsibility for their own actions

FACILITATOR: Rochelle Cobb, ACES Professional Learning Specialist / rcobb@aces.org

Rochelle specializes in designing professional learning experiences tailored to meet individual needs. She has taught high school English and coached teachers in all content areas.Rochelle is a Restorative Practices trainer licensed through the International Institute of Restorative Practices, and has found success in using Restorative Practices for the past four years with students, adults and in her personal life.
