Person-Centered Planning: The Various Options to Secure Positive Student Outcomes

01/25/2019 at 9:00AM - 3:30PM EST
Location: ACES, 205 Skiff Street, Hamden, CT 06517

AUDIENCE: Grades K-12 families/parents of students with disabilities, and special education teachers and administrators

Whether you’re a parent or an educator from elementary to high school, you may have many questions about future plans for your students with disabilities. Person-Centered Planning helps guide students and the adults supporting them in answering some of these questions:

  • What is my vision for a good year/life?
  • How am I going to overcome barriers that I may face?
  • What activities and/or services do I need to have to be successful in achieving my goals?
  • What do I want to do when I finish school?

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), the RESC Alliance, and the State Education Resource Center (SERC) invite families/parents of students with disabilities and educators to learn about a variety of Person-Centered Planning options, including an introduction to Charting the LifeCourse: A New Universal Person-Centered Planning Process.
