Theresa Ott Named Assistant Director of Pupil Services

(North Haven, CT – October 3, 2022) Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is pleased to announce the appointment of Theresa Ott as Assistant Director of ACES Pupil Services. Theresa will commence her new position starting September 30th, 2022, and will join Director Kevin Keating on the ACES Pupil Services administration team.

“This is a challenging year for Special Education in Connecticut, and for ACES as an organization with so many changes on so many different levels,” said Theresa Ott. “I am grateful for the opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to the organization and collaborate with so many dedicated and hardworking professionals.

Theresa has a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Nevada, and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a Minor in Psychology also from the University of Nevada.

“Theresa Ott comes with a breadth of experience in special education and leadership that will enhance our current programs and help develop innovative ways to support the needs of children with disabilities in the ACES region,” said Kevin Keating, Director of Pupil Services. “Theresa has a proven track record of problem-solving in order to create learning opportunities. Many of us know Theresa through her work in supporting the SDE in transitioning to the Connecticut Special Education Data System (CT-SEDS) as well as her former work as Director of Special Education with the Hamden Public Schools.”

Theresa Ott will assist with and manage special education programming within ACES schools and programs. In addition, she will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of relevant professional development in the area of special education that supports the work and needs of school districts. Prior to Theresa’s appointment as Assistant Director of Pupil Services, Theresa was the Coordinator of Regional Initiatives and IEP Developmental Specialist at ACES. Theresa Ott was also the PPS Director for Hamden Public Schools.
