Project Lead The Way

ACES at Chase Project Lead The Way (PLTW) department is part of the students Creative Arts Rotation. "Through explorations of coding and robotics, flight and space, PLTW Gateway fuels students’ passion for discovery. As they engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, students use and stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways and connect their learning to life.  All the while, students step into roles spanning the career landscape – a crucial experience during this transitional time in their lives." The PLTW program at ACES at Chase was designed so that all of our students would benefit from this cutting edge engineering curriculum.

PLTW Course offerings

ACES at Chase staff believes it is important to expose students to the engineering standards in order to help them become prepared for an ever increasing technologically-based society. Being one of the few middle schools in Connecticut to offer this program to all our students is an exciting, and unique opportunity. Our 6th grade students take the Computer Science for Innovators and Makers course, 7th grade students take the Automation and Robotics course. Our 8th grade students take "Advanced Engineering" a combination of  Design and Modeling PLTW and App Creators.  Additionally during the Astronomy unit in science students incorporate the Flight and Space course.
