ACES Assistive Technology Services Receives $25,000 Grant from the John H. & Ethel G. Noble Charitable Trust to Implement a Lending Library Initiative

(North Haven, CT – January 25, 2022): Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the Deutsche Bank Trust Company, N.A., acting as Trustee of the John H. and Ethel G. Noble Charitable Trust. The awarded funding will support the implementation of the ACES Lending Library Initiative (ALLI), which will create an assistive technology lending library that will provide tools and ongoing supports for academic, social, executive-functioning, and vocational skills.

ALLI will provide software and devices that range from low- to high-tech options. Additionally, the initiative will create a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) lab that will provide the ACES Assistive Technology Services (ATS) department with the ability to create customized modifications for students with disabilities and provide opportunities for exploration of vocational experiences for students with and without disabilities in STEAM fields. ALLI seeks to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion among ACES students, as well as students from other districts that are served by ACES.
