ECA student wins state level Shakespeare Competition

ECA students Malenky Welsh and Willow Giannotti-Garlinghouse received first and second place at The English Speaking Union Connecticut Shakespeare Competition in Greenwich on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  The ECA students were coached by Carolyn Ladd, Voice and Speech teacher at ECA, and Ingrid Schaeffer, Chair of the Theatre Dept.  There were 22 participants in the competition from high schools throughout Connecticut.

Malenky will advance to the National Competition that will take place on May 1, 2017 at Lincoln Center in New York City.  Last year, ECA student Zoe Oliver placed second in the nation.  We wish Malenky Welsh the best of luck!
