Music educator, choral conductor, and pianist, Amy is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of arts education. Amy’s career in education is fueled by a belief in the extraordinary capacity of young people to imagine what could be. Her work is dedicated to the cultivation of vibrant music education communities which nurture skill in creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. Amy extends her work at ECA as a collaborative pianist, as a guest lecturer for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra offering regular Prelude Concert Talks since 2016, and through contributions to the field of music education, including a workshop on Improvisation in the Choral Classroom for the 2019 CT Music Educators’ In-Service Conference. Amy is currently a graduate student at Quinnipiac University, working toward a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Education at Teachers College Columbia University, with a focus on aesthetic philosophy and its implication for arts education with Maxine Greene and David Hanson and a Bachelor of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music under the mentorship of Dr. Donna Brink Fox, William Weinert, and Vincent Lenti.
