Alternate Route to Certification for Library Media Specialists
Earn a School Library Media Specialist Cross-Endorsement While You Continue to Teach!

ARCLMS is an advanced educator preparation program approved by the CT State Board of Education. It was developed by ACES in response to the statewide shortage of qualified, certified school library media specialists in CT. Teachers who complete the one year program of study will earn cross-endorsement #062, School Library Media Specialist, and are eligible for employment as a library media specialist in any CT public school.
Qualifications for Admission
To be considered for admission, applicants must:
- Hold a valid CT Provisional or Professional Educator teaching certificate
- Be employed by a CT PreK-12 school or school district during the program of study
