What is ACES Summer Academy?
ACES Summer Academy is a blended learning summer school utilizing Edgenuity’s research-based online learning system. Course offerings include credit recovery, enrichment and college prep for 9th-12th grade students.

Why is ACES doing a Summer Academy?
ACES is dedicated to enhancing and transforming lives through education, innovation, and leadership.; in this case, with a personalized learning system that allows students to achieve academic success at their pace.

How and when will students receive registration confirmation?
An email will be sent confirming registration and payment.

What is the cost?
$195 PER COURSE. A reduced rate of $175.00 per course is available for students who receive free/reduced lunch.
Please note that ACES will contact districts prior to registrations to confirm credit acceptance.

Is financial assistance available?
Yes, financial assistance is available to students who receive free / reduced lunch. If applicable, please indicate free / reduced lunch when registering for the Summer Academy. Confirmation of free / reduced lunch status will need to be confirmed in order to be eligible for this discounted rate.

How will ACES Summer Academy be staffed?
ACES Summer Academy is staffed with a certified ELA and math teacher. The science, social studies and world language students will be monitored daily by the ELA and Math teachers. They will be lead virtually by a teacher assigned by Edgenuity.

How will students’ progress be monitored?
Students, parents, and the teachers will have access to notifications and reports within the online Edgenuity system.

Is seat time required? How much out of school time is needed and when would teachers be available out of class?
Yes, 12-hours of class time per week with a teacher is required for students in a credit recovery or new credit course. Courses taken for enrichment purposes do not require seat time. Teachers will be available by email for out-of-class online learning time. All assessments will be taken during class. Students are expected to work on course outside of face to face time to stay on track.

How will credit be transferred to the students’ districts?
ACES will provide a certificate of completion for each student. They will be sent to the student, parents and the schools’ guidance office.

How many credits are applied to the online language course?
One credit is applied to each successfully completed course.

Are students who just completed 8th grade and are entering 9th grade in the fall eligible for the program?
Yes, students who have completed 8th grade and will be entering 9th grade in the fall are eligible to enroll in the ACES Summer Academy program.
