At SAILS, families often share with us struggles that they sometimes encounter with their child when out in the community. This blog, put out by the Seattle Children's Hospital, addresses a common challenge that many of our families seem to share...going grocery shopping with a child with autism. We hope that you find the strategies included in the video and blog helpful. http://theautismblog.seattlechildrens.org/autism-and-a-trip-to-the-grocery-store/

As summer approaches, Common Sense Media offers suggestions about managing screen time, both for your children and ourselves (it's important for parents and caregivers to remember to be good models of digital citizenship and device use too!) These suggestions are intended to be general advice and may not be applicable to all children at all times. We realize digital devices are extremely important throughout the entire day for many kids. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/screen-time
