Dr. Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan

(North Haven, CT – December 2, 2019) Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) Executive Director Dr. Thomas Danehy has announced that Dr. Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan has been named the new Chief of Outreach and ACCESS. Rossetti-Ryan has been the acting interim director of the ACESS program since October 2019.

“As interim director of ACCESS, Evelyn had a great opportunity to see how the ACCESS program can be brought

to new levels of success. That, and the staff’s interest in having her come over, as well as the work she does with the Business Advisory Council in Outreach to the business community, was enticing,’ said Danehy. “This new role illustrates the streamlining within the ACES Design Plan where we build capacity by creating greater synergies within our agency to serve our partner districts in 25 communities.”

Rossetti-Ryan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Elementary Education from Columbia University. She earned a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from Teachers College, Columbia University (1991) where she was the recipient of a Carnegie Fellowship in Urban Education. She later earned her Doctorate of Education degree from Teachers College in Educational Administration (2005). In 2010, she was knighted Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella della Soldarieta (Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity) by the Italian Government for her work promoting Italian culture and commerce in the U.S. She is an active member of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer with Special Olympics Connecticut, and a past Vice President of the Connecticut-chapter of the National Organization of Italian American Women. Her most recent post was as ACES Chief of Marketing and Outreach in 2017.

“I’m thrilled to serve ACES in the new capacity of Chief of Outreach and ACCESS and look forward to working with all the professionals at ACES. I’ve been honored to serve ACES in many facets during my tenure – as a PDSI consultant, grant writer, Foundation secretary, communications & marketing director and chief, and now as Chief of Outreach and ACCESS, said Rossetti Ryan. “I’m excited to bring the ACCESS program to a new level of success and increase support for the individuals that we serve and for the staff who work successfully with our clients daily as well as to continue raising the profile of ACES and ACCESS in the community.”

The mission of ACES ACCESS is to empower individuals with disabilities to become contributing members of their community. The program is located in the greater New Haven county. As an extension of ACES' commitment to serving the needs of students with special needs, ACES ACCESS supports the career development and transition for a multi-challenged adult population (age 21 and older).
