ACES Announces Annual Careers In Education Recruitment Fair
March 26th, 2019
(North Haven, CT March 25, 2019) There has never been a better time to be an educator. One reason is that there are many different opportunities available right now in middle-Connecticut.
With an emphasize on diversity, Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES), one of the area’s leading educational organizations, is once again making it easy for teachers and administrators to locate an opportunity that is right for them by hosting a one-day career event. The ACES MTR Advisory Council is hosting its annual “Careers in Education Recruitment Fair” on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the ACES SDA Building located at 205 Skiff Street in Hamden, CT.
“The objective of the job fair is to match certified teachers, administrators and pupil services personnel with employment opportunities in our member districts,” said Kevin Walton, Human Resources Specialist and MTR Coordinator for the event. “There is a strong need for qualified educators in administration, math, science, English, world language and special education. In past years, the MTR Recruitment Fair has proven to be beneficial to the candidates, who receive first-hand knowledge about employment opportunities and the districts who have been able to hire some great educators whom they first met at the recruitment fair.”
Walton goes on to explain that besides matching candidates with jobs, the purpose of the ACES MTR Advisory Council is to plan, implement and develop strategies to increase the diversity in the educator workforce.
The event is geared towards the recruitment of teachers of color, however it is open to all qualified candidates. For additional information, contact Kevin Walton at kwalton@aces.org or calling (203) 498-6837 or Carol Bunk at cbunk@aces.org, (203) 498- 6800.
