Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School students participate in CAMPY program

May 15th, 2018

Selected seventh and eighth grade Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School students along with their teachers, Ms. Reid and Mrs. Zawalich, enjoyed math enrichment activities at Southern Connecticut State University as a part of their CAMPY program (CT Association for Mathematically Precocious Youth).  Courses focused on advanced math topics including rotational symmetry, topology, and nano-science to solve real world problems and experiment with the math required to operate submarines.  Other exciting sessions involved STEM topics such as using the TI-Innovator Rover calculator to maneuver a robotic vehicle and using calculator based rangers and graphing calculators to design car stunts and explore the velocity of battery operated cars.
