Recent Grants

ACES Education Foundation

Thanks to the support of community partners and individuals, the ACES Education Foundation was able to award $56,869 in grants for the upcoming school year. These funds support innovative projects that help ACES teachers and staff enhance ACES programs and improve learning for students and clients. Recent ACES Education Foundation-funded initiatives include:

  • Modern dance technique workshops and performances at ACES Educational Center for the Arts
  • The purchase of assistive and augmentative communication devices for ACES Village School and ACES Whitney High School East/West to help students with multiple challenges communicate and access the curriculum and to help staff assess their progress and target instruction
  • Workshops to help ACES staff learn how to better diagnose and support children with autism who exhibit language delays
  • Whitney High School North student attendance at a performance of The Old Man and the Sea at Long Wharf Theatre, to complement their language arts curriculum
  • A residency with the Vinca Quartet, a New Haven-based string quartet, at ACES Educational Center for the Arts, with whom students will work to compose original pieces of music for performance
  • The establishment of a school library at Whitney High School North
