Recent Grants
ACES Education Foundation
Thanks to the support of community partners and individuals, the ACES Education Foundation was able to award $49,207 in grants. These funds support innovative projects that help ACES teachers and staff enhance ACES programs and improve learning for students and clients. Recent ACES Education Foundation-funded initiatives include:
- The establishment of a community vegetable and flower garden that provides experiential learning opportunities at ACES CAMS
- The creation of a touring improve theatre troupe of ACES ECA students that is performing in schools, libraries, and senior centers in the greater New Haven area
- The acquisition of Vernier probes that provide hands-on, experimental math and science learning opportunities for students at ACES TEMS
- The establishment of a fitness and recreation program at ACES Village School that uses equipment targeted to the movement needs of students with a range of disabilities
- The use of videocamera and classroom response systems to create electronic learning portfolios at ACES WIMS
