Systematic Ecologically Structured Instruction (SESI)
SESI involves the combination of a highly structured classroom environment and empirically based instruction to effectively teach students to function independently. SESI adheres to a behavior analytic methodology and is ecologically structured similarly to the TEACCH system. It is designed primarily for students that require a great deal of prompting and classroom support. In addition to teaching independence, SESI is structured to strengthen the students’ communication skills and their ability to learn in a group format.
ACES’ SESI is staffed by qualified, certified professionals in the areas of behavior analysis, education, occupational therapy, speech, and other related services. As with EIBI, the SESI team works together to optimize student learning through data-based intervention and analysis.
