ACES OFFERS AN ATTRACTIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE TO ALL ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES.

ACES employees may enroll in a variety of programs which benefit both the employee as well as his or her family. Employees are also given the opportunity to enroll or change plans annually during a designated open enrollment month. The benefits below are applicable to employees working a minimum of 29 hours per week. Additionally, health benefits only are optional for employees working from 21-28 hours per week.

MEDICAL

ACES offers plans that include prescription drug coverage. Cost-share rates are the responsibility of the employee through payroll deduction and vary based on position.

DENTAL

ACES offers a plan which is available at no cost to the staff member. Employees may also choose to upgrade their dental plan to add family members through payroll deduction.

PENSION/CONTRIBUTORY RETIREMENT PLANS

The Teacher Retirement Board plan consists of a 7.25% employee contribution plus a Medicare deduction. VALIC is a pension program for non-union staff members and offers a partial match from ACES.

LIFE INSURANCE

ACES purchases term life insurance for each staff member at no cost to the employee.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT INSURANCE

ACES offers a plan at not cost to the employee.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

ACES provides a comprehensive plan which pays 60% of the employee's salary after a 90-day elimination period.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Employees may use this confidential service to seek professional consultation or referrals for themselves or family members. The plan provides 24-hour support for crisis intervention, work stress, substance abuse, personal and family stress, and legal referrals. Referrals are available for up to 3 free counseling visits.

SECTION 125 FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

Employees may choose to participate in a flexible spending program that allows deductions of up to $2,500, pre-tax, to cover medical, dental, vision and/or up to $5,000 for dependent day care expenses.  Teachers should speak directly with Human Resources regarding the implications of HSA.

 

CREDIT UNION

Employees may choose to join Wepawaug-Flagg Federal Credit Union. Services include: first and second mortgages, automobile loans, ATM/Debit and Credit cards, checking, savings and money market accounts.

HOLIDAYS/VACATIONS

ACES publishes a calendar for all employees prior to the start of each fiscal year. Some school calendars vary by program due to the diverse schools and programs we offer.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS

Opportunities are available for ten-month employees who wish to be considered for summer school assignments.
